Abundance vs Scarcity

I haven’t fully formulated my pov but I have been thinking a lot about abundance vs scarcity, and I believe the shift from a mindset of scarcity to a mindset of abundance is probably one of the most major shifts we as individuals need to make today.

While it seems contradictory this shift doesn’t require a position of privilege or wealth. It is realizing that more than ever we live in a world of abundance, and from this lens you will make different decisions than if you are looking through a lens of scarcity.

Many of us grew up with a mindset of scarcity (and in turn our society, culture and to an certain extent our DNA follows this mindset). What happens now that we are in a world of abundance? We gorge ourselves, (there are more obese than starving today). We hoard (wealth disparity).

There is much more than 1200 chars to probe here, but from a lens of abundance one can see huge opportunity, which can in turn create more abundance. But on the flip side how do we as humans and societies learn to deal with surplus? Surplus can cause a negative feedback loop that leads to debt, a fat body, to much stuff and information overload which requires daily effort to avoid. What to do when we have enough?
