been thinking about risk...

one can
seek to control
to try to
reduce risk.

I have found
control is
an illusion

a fools errand

one can seek
to train
their response

to create
the best outcome

Here there are
many approaches:

game out scenarios
weigh the costs
attempt to predict, by data or the tossing of bones
having a plan A, B and even C

by its very nature
it is impossible
to predict
any
particular
black swan

but one knows
there will always be
uncertainty

learning to surf
the waves of turbulence
may not stop
fear
(risk’s weapon)

but will
build
confidence
and
skills

so one can
not only
weather
and
survive

but also
thrive.

turbulent times
are not
the time
one should
contract,
withdraw,
protect.

they are
the time
to
lean in,
learn,
include,
create,
invest,

during a
‘risk event’
you want
to have built
the muscles
and confidence
to not only
handle
the downsides
of the moment
but to
realize
the
opportunities

prioritize
opportunities
which
help others
because
those
lift all

index
responsiveness
agility
dexterity
diversity
over
defensiveness
protectiveness
uniformity

during
turbulent times
don’t drown
don’t tread
surf.
