and:
  • Compensation: Get the ‘Comp Pie Slices’ right for each member http://bit.ly/2q2xQeT
  • Space: get right working space for your team, including geographic location http://bit.ly/2p0I3b4
  • Mentor & Mentee: hire people that others want to work and learn with; make sure that they love mentoring.
  • Lean into the community: actively host and participate in meetups; donate team’s time/skills for volunteering.
  • Contributor and Accountable: EVERYONE is a contributor, and everyone is accountable, eliminate resistors http://bit.ly/2Nyibg6
  • Reduce meetings: everyone's voice is heard but once a decision is made everyone pulls for the decision. http://bit.ly/34Og2TA
  • Drive decisions at meetings: Make decisions quickly and be ok with pivoting over time; every meeting clearly state the decision(s), and identify ONE person who is the ultimate decision maker. (RAPID is useful)
  • Tools - Allow the team to choose their tools. You can create standards, but these suggestions, not restrictions. The standards are a living document.
  • Help your team get other jobs - Skill them up, make them valuable to the market. Karma works, http://bit.ly/2zUXy6O
