Obedience & Conformity

regarding a post by Steve Bartlett: Steve's original Linkedin post

Obedience & Conformity, is probably not that useful on the playground either.
These attributes I not only want taught but I want around me at school, work or the playground.

  • How to positively manage ones emotional states.
  • Treating others with kindness, respect, while also understanding when and how to create boundaries when necessary.
  • Understand the value of hard work, and natural consequences.
  • Be able to defend and challenge ideas. Understand, value and use the scientific process, logic, and, emotions for decisioning and challenging/defending ideas.
  • Do what is right, even when its hard.
  • Always Try, be willing to fail, and learn
  • be curious, always ask why, realize framing the question is almost more important as the answer. Know how to look for answers, and how to challenge those answers for the 'truth'
  • be understanding, empathetic and not fearful, but limit the blast radius of the bad/evil that you uncover, there is no time in life to waste giving any sunlight to the weeds in our lives, focus on the good you want to grow.
  • No matter ones lot, you can choose to live either in a world of scarcity, or one of abundance. This isn't one grand choice but little ones done every moment.
  • Be generous
  • Participate, leave your mark.
