Your people, their Job Offers

If you build high performance teams, you should expect your people are constantly getting job offers.

In fact if they aren’t, you probably don’t have a high performance team.

Relax, there are 3 possible outcomes from your people considering other job opportunities, all of them are good.

1. The opportunity isn’t as good as their current job. Great! we got it good, awesome for everyone!

2. The opportunity is equal but better in some easy to fix way (salary, environment etc). Great! I now have the data as a manager that I can use with the executives/hr to fix the difference. Everyone comes out ahead, we have more competitive data, and we brought you to parity. There is a possibility that a change can be made for the betterment of the whole team as well. (warning: you can only play the salary card once or maybe twice in an org)

3. The opportunity is better for you, the team member. Could be career movement, salary, location, etc. Great! As a leader it is my job to develop you and see you grow as a human! Go forth with my blessing, and pay it forward.
