Who can you enroll?

When interviewing leaders, there is lots of conversation on how to probe their skills, ability to lead, academic experience etc.

I haven’t heard much conversation on what I believe is the most important leadership question:

“who can you enroll?"

What makes the greatest leaders is how they are ‘multipliers’.

It isn’t about them, it is about who they bring with them, who they can enroll to your cause.

When these leaders come into your organization, they turn on their ‘bat-signal’ and bring the superheros.

They understand the importance of culture, how to care and feed skilled, creative passionate talent, break down barriers, call in aircover and develop individuals & teams.

On the flip side, when looking to join an organization, I don't focus on what the org will do for me, but what I will be empowered to do for the superheroes with whom I want to work.

  • “Is this an organization that I trust and want to enroll others into?"
  • “Is this culture one that will care for these people I care for?"
  • “Is this a cause that I want to support?"
  • “Are the problems they are solving impactful?"
  • “Will I have the support to make the decisions that matter?"

Find the multipliers, and make your org able to support these wonderful people.
